Bill Clinton on being No. 2: 'I may slit my throat'
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Former President Bill Clinton says it’s not going to be easy to adjust to a new role in the White House if his wife, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, wins the presidency.

"I may slit my throat," the former president joked on Thursday night's The Daily Show when asked about the prospect of returning to the White House as anyone other than the President of the United States.

But Clinton quickly got back to being supportive saying, "My basic job will be to support her if she wins. I'll go and do what is most needed, and what is best for the country, and let her make that call."

The former president also praised the other Democratic presidential candidates.

"I like this field," he said. "I love having a field, as a Democrat, where I don't have to be against anybody."
– CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney
He'll probably have plenty of company if she wins.

Nope, one of them won't be me. If she wins, I'll just throw up my hands and chalk it up to another messed up election.

Re: We should be so lucky

I thought it was just a joke. Slow news day.

If she wins, Bill will probably be in charge of selecting the White House female interns. .......

Re: We should be so lucky

Its just that you'd think CNN would have more important things to report than a few words from Bill Clinton.

Anyway, my vote is probably going to John Edwards. No one in my family is planning on voting for Hillary. None of my coworkers are either. If she does win, I guess I will pray that she accomplishes and/or resolves important current issues during her term.

Re: We should be so lucky

It's just one of CNN's little blog sites.

I don't know if they're still saying it, but the Reps did say early on that Hillary would be the best thing that could happen to their party in the upcoming election.

Re: We should be so lucky

Not a huge Hillary fan, but I like the prospect of Big Bill in a support role. I liked his politics- and I'm sure she won't be snogging any interns- so the best of both worlds...

She doesn't support abortion, and she also does not support gay rights. She advocates universal health care, but all of the Democratic candidates do. She is also big on education, but how can you not be? I think she is the most moderate of the Democratic candidates at this point.

Just in case anyone was wondering, she’s NOT a lesbian.

Hillary Clinton: I'm not a lesbian

Friday, September 21st 2007, 4:00 AM
Hillary Clinton has publicly announced that she is not a lesbian.

Hillary Clinton officially declared she's not a lesbian - not that there's anything wrong with that.

During an interview with The Advocate to be published next week, Sean Kennedy, the gay magazine's news and features editor, asked the presidential candidate, "How do you respond to the occasional rumor that you're a lesbian?"

"People say a lot of things about me, so I really don't pay any attention to it," Sen. Clinton (D-N.Y.) replied.

"It's not true, but it is something that I have no control over. People will say what they want to say."

Kennedy told the Daily News he's convinced. "I 100% believe she's a straight, heterosexual woman," he said.

I agree and she is technically not a Moderate Demo but close enough. I thought Edwards was the farthest on the left.

To add, IMO she does have some compassion for our military and cares somewhat about national defense. So like her hubby Bill probably won't hesitate to keep us in Iraq to finish whatever the mission is <--whatever that may be. Bill had no problems pulling the trigger. After 15 years we are still in the Balkans.
