Question

plug underneath my van

While I was replacing my speed output sensor yesterday, I noticed that there was a plug coming out underneath the van. It goes in between the enginge and the tranmission. I just wanted to know what it's for and why it's there.

was it an electrical cord type plug or? if so it's likely for the block heater,used in extreme cold conditions.
