Back!

Hey guys....just thought I'd say whatsup to all the OG's in here. I haven't been around for a bit. I was out to sea for nearly 6 months as well as in recovery from surgery on a torn rotator cuff on my left shoulder.

Many of you will be disappointed to find out that I sold my REX and my lsvtec motor. Motor and engine management went for $3000 and the REX went for $700. I sold the motor to my best friend and it's going into his 99 integra LS. As for the REX, the new owner already swapped in another lsvtec motor that I built, so I'm not too upset about it.

Another funny thing...Now that I sold my best friend my motor that I built, I now have 6 of my closest friends all running motors that I built for them. It's a good feeling to know that my friends now have reliable cars.

As for me, I sold my 93 del sol Si, my 88 CRX, and my 01 CBR 600R since last summer. I purchased a E36 BMW and immediately bolted up a clean body kit and M3 spoiler as well as HID's. My plans are to run some 18x9 wheels on it for the winter and then get rid of her. I'll be looking for an AP1 S2000 in the spring as well as another CRX to build. I'm looking for one mainly from the south...one that doesn't have any rust or major dents to ease in the rebuild. As for a motor.....

85mm Golden Eagle sleeved LS block
12:1 Wiseco pistons
Carillo rods
Arp hardware
GSR head
Skunk2 Pro 2 cams
JG edelbrock Performer X manifold
70-68mm throttle body
SMSP Tri-Y header

I'm looking to put down 250whp/160wtq on this baby all motor. I'm not going to get so hung up on dyno graphs though as I want to hit 10.99 in the quarter w/ this thing without boost or nitrous. It's possible as it's been done before. I'll have to have the proper suspension/tires to support that though.

Well, glad to be back!

Re: Back!

Hey Bambam, what's up? Sorry to hear about the rotator cuff... that sux.

I remember you saying you sold the crx. I almost forgot that you bought a DelSlo. And I knew you had a bimmer. Never knew you had a bike though.

If I ever go the way of a Honda again (I miss my crx)... and you stay on land long enough, and I have money to throw into it, I may want your business (and maybe Brian's too... that's hybrid1990crx... look for his thread showing his b17 powered da). I have family up north so visiting wouldn't be a big hassle. The problem is finding the right car...

Well, some day. Take care, dude.

one sat night we were hanging out at the spot and somebody asked jer if he built one of the cars parked in a row of cars. he says "yes and the one parked next to it and the one parked next to it....shoot, i built all 10 of those cars in that row" LoL. good feeling indeed

you should help save the 4g's! i don't have to tell you why...they are dying. we must rescue, rebuild, and find good homes for what is left while we can!

Definitely. I plan on finding another CRX...not sure if I want a DX, or Si, or what year I want. Some things on my mind are:

Rear discs (90-91 si) vs. drums
Sunroof vs. no sunroof
ITR LCA (88) vs non ITR LCA style (89-91)
weight - lightest year was 88, then comes 89, then 90-91 were heaviest
Door mounted seatbelts (89-91) vs pillar mounted seatbelts (88)

I think i'm leaning more towards the 90-91 style Si. I like the idea of OEM rear discs and sunroof. I don't like the idea of door mounted seatbelts though. I also like the 88 ITR style rear LCA's.

If my intentions are to find a 90-91 style Si, My goal of 10's most likely will never be reached with this motor. 11's would still be easy. I don't think I could complain too much with 11's.
My plan with the car is to do what most motorheads do with old muscle cars....fully restore it to factory spec. I mean, all new oem interior, moldings, etc. Also, I plan to leave the exterior pretty much stock except a JDM front end and carbon fiber lip. I'm not going to paint it any off-the-wall colors and just repaint it it's factory color. I will lower it slightly on Omnipower drag suspension and run lightweight 15's and call it a day.
This next crx I build is definitely going to be a collector's item for me and stay with me for the rest of my life.

Re: Back!

thats what im plannin to do to mine restore it back..ive been combing junkyards for random good parts and ive got a nice collection goin..im tired of my rice replacement parts..even tho i smoked them..some one pieces would be saweet but i dont mind the stock/amber combo..definately want to get the tahiti resprayed but i could go a little greener..im lucky i just have a small patch of rust on a door and its gonna be garaged for a while so i can rework the suspension and tune my b-series..want to go turbo, but if i end up gettin a vw i might just turbo the vr6..

oh yeah..welcome back dude can you halp me install v-techs lol
