Naw- like Taranaki said- we'd still come calling now and again to drop off advanced weaponry that will inevitably be used against us down the road. Or at the very least keep the "other side" of the moment sufficiently pissed off. Breaking our dependency on oil would just pull us out of the red, maybe...free us up to concentrate on meddling in other ways.

But I suppose it's irrelevant, as the majority of our culture has it's head too far up it's ass to make lasting, intelligent choices. They would sooner have us burn Muslims, atheists, liberals and free thinkers for fuel...
