okokok... Dash Bezel & Gauge Pics

Not the best pics...

Apparently I managed to f-up the high beam indicator and need to get a new one. Also have to finish heater connection. Putting new new oil pan on tomorrow... then should be ready for whenever hoist is available.

Looks pretty good Jim.

Is it me or do the pics make the MPH look less lit up than the RPM gauge btw?

I am going to have to agree with Geno on this one.

Nice work.

Thanks... Somone on another site had a template I tried to use - total cluster****. Wound up making my own, and I'm pretty happy with it. Only problem was that I use 1/8" aluminum, and since it's not too easy to bend at that thickness, had a local shop drill the holes and make the bends after I laid everything out. I left 2 marks for fuel pressure gauge and oil temp gauge... going to add them later, you can see one of the dimple marks under the oil pressure gauge.

No it's the picture... trying to get a no flash picture in the friggin dark that close up almost made me have a friggin stroke. Lol, I took like 40 pics and those are the only ones that came out kinda ok.

I AM going to redo the entire interior next spring... getting myself a mig welder for x-mas so I'll be good to go. I have some of it drawn out... If it'll work ok, maybe I'll post up some pic's of the layout, but I do plan on taking a series of pics and posting it up, in case anyone wants to try it. The only things I plan on keeping are the seats and the steering column.

I just really think GM dropped the ball on the interior of the early 2gens. I think they could have followed the body lines more and made it one of the sweetest interiors, but... they didn't. I mean come on... STITCHED VINYL??? They should have stuck with the sheet metal dashes and consoles, or went to fg, but they went with something that just totally looks out of place, IMO.

Lol, thanks guys....

Geno, to be honest, I really didn't know that much about any of this except I liked Camaors, to start with. But being forced to do all the work yourself (because I'm friggin broke) really makes you understand alot. I only wish I had the $1k I spent on "mechanics" screwing up my car before I got the balls to do all this myself. Anyhoo, I know a LITTLE more than I let on... but with the technical stuff that I have no experience with I'm at a loss. AND I'm dealing with a computerless, relatively easy to work on motor, etc.

Listening to you guys for the past couple years has really helped.

Glad you like it... I'll add more as I get some done. (I WANNA HAVE IT RUNNING THIS WEEKEND... DAMMIT!)
