Re: 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special WIP

You don't see the heavy handed color pencil technique that we use very often. I suppose because it takes more time, and can be painful.

It gets me that folks think yours has been "shopped." I suppose it should be considered a compliment. Its like when an inexperienced eye looks at my aviation art and wants to know if it oils or acrylic. They find it hard to believe something on the format (2'x3' and larger) I use is done in pencil. Of course I use the ArtStix for the large uncomplicated stuff like sky. My fingers and hands just can't take that kind of pressure anymore.

Anyway....Ja finish it? I'd like to see the final results.

Re: 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special WIP

Thanks for the comments.

Rob: Right now I'm working on a Tiger Woods portrait. I'll post it in the non auto art section when I'm done. I'm still open to suggestions though.

ClearHooter: Yeah, there's no doubt that this technique is really time consuming. The results really do pay off though. There are alot of people that mistake alot of photorealistic drawings for photoshop jobs, both color and graphite. I guess it could be flattering or offensive, depending how you look at it. Btw, the drawing's been done for a while. Check out page 3 and 4

Re: 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special WIP

Ok, cheers Alex. Good luck with the Woods portrait. If I may, could I please suggest a coloured Ferrari 250 GTO .....don't worry if you would rather not....these are my favourite cars ever!

Thanks a lot, Rob.

Re: 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special WIP

Actually I did do a 250 GTO a long time ago, but it's not very good. Maybe I'll re-do it sometime, because I've always wanted to.
