17yr. old body seams = Niagra Falls

Having a real problem shutting off the water in my crx. It looks like some of the factory glue on the body seams, around the top of the hatch, has started to get hard and crack, allowing water to seep in and find it's way down to the lift support mounts and drip all over my r/ speaker grills. sunroof in good shape w/ no leaks, but after sealing what cracks I could see and reach, water is still getting in. anyone encountered this before, and if so what's the solution? I'm thinking hatch needs to be removed and reseal the whole seam and hinge mounts.

anybody? need help. want to avoid removing tailgate unless totally necessary.

Ive had this problem as well with my crx, I sealed what I though was causing it but still never found the source entirely. Its not too hard to remove the hatch and might give you some piece of mind when you fix it.

i had something like that on my hb. it was coming from udner the molding in the drip rail not the hatch. the gasket around your hatch on the body check that. if anythign take your head liner out and take the good ol garden hose to track you leak then use some joint seam sealer fro myour autobody paint supply store.

thanx guys. at least I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I'm finding out this is a cronic problem with many hondas in general. my 05 civic developed a leak in the trunk in it's first year on the road. naturally I didn't notice it until everything was soaked inside. again with the body seams and factory glue. I have done everything possible, short of removing the hatch, with the interior fully gutted and it's just impossible to see anything. guess it's time to get dirty. I know it's a simple job, it's just so damn inconvienient. will sleep better knowing I'm not the only one. LOL will let everybody know how it turns out when finished. Thnx again!
