1999 Jeep cherokee acting up !!
I know this is the section for the Grand Cherokee, I just wanted to see if anyone in here could help us that visits this section of the forum.
My jeep, when I start it up, will not idle, it cuts off unless I keep my foot on the gas and continue reving the engine. When the motor is cold, after first starting up, it will not idle, it cuts off. When the motor warms up, it seems to idle fine, but this is only when the motor warms up. A few times it would turn over and not start, just cranks. Now after putting in a new battery, it is running good again. Someone suggested that it needed to reset some sensor. Well after the battery was in for a few days, it started running good again and still is running good. Im asking this question in here to maybe get more information on this Jeep and to better understand what the hecks wrong with this Jeep. Is this a comman problem with Jeeps? We were having trouble earlier this year with it sputting and back firing and was told to spray eletronic cleaner on the throttle control sensor and that seemed to take care of that problem. Now this new problems has come up. Thank you Gary and Gayle Gulfport, MS |

Re: 1999 Jeep cherokee acting up !!
Check coolant sensor with a meter or scan tool.
Had similar issues and that was the problem |
