B16A2 w/Hydro into 89 ef sedan HELP
I have a 99 wrecked SI. I will be taking the engine, tranny, ecu, harness, pedals, clutch booster/hydro line, so that I can put it in my 89 Civic LX Automatic.
Is there anything else that I need from under the SI's hood to put in my Civic to get the swap running? I saw the Hasbro Mount kit w/mounting baket for hydro tranny. Do I really need it, since I have the cluth pedal cylyder/booster, and line????? Do I need the complete harness? or just the engine harness? |

Re: B16A2 w/Hydro into 89 ef sedan HELP
You have to convert it to cable. The kit is from hasport, hasbro makes toys. You wont need the pedal, mc/booster or anything like that.
http://www.hasport.com/products/mount_kits/efb2.htm You are going to need axles for a 90-93 integra, non abs. Also the shift linkage from the same car will need to be cut and welded but its what you need unless you buy one from hasport that fits like stock, or you SOMEHOW (highly unlikely) manage to find a jdm shift linkage from an SiR. And since you have an automatic you will need to do a quick search for an auto-manual swap guide. Its not hard to do and wont take you too long, the most important thing you will need is the pedal assembly from a manual 4th gen civic (88-91). But the guide will tell you everything you need, there are plenty of them on these forums..like I said, a search will find one.

You don't have to convert it to cable, but its the easiest way to go. PasswordJdm is now selling a clutch master cylinder cylinder the mounts remotely on the bulk head that allows you to use the slave cyinder and use all the hydro stuff, but you wont be using the m/c or anything that came out of the Si. Or you can go the easy way and just get the hydro to cable conversion from hasport.
You are also going to have to convert to obd2. You can get plug and play jumper harness' from rywire. You'll need a 4 wire jumper harness for the vtec sol, vtec oil pressure, knock, and 2nd o2. It will be a good idea to get a shorter alternator belt for clearance. The DelSol Vtec (not the si) is about the shortest you can get. You need the motor mount bracket that connects to the back of the trans/block from a 90-93 integra. You're probably going to need a 90-93 integra intermediate shaft if you are going to use integra axles, im not 100% sure on this but I don't thiink the EM1 shaft will work with the integra axles.

Re: B16A2 w/Hydro into 89 ef sedan HELP
I do recommend getting the aftermarket shift linkage just for the fact of the newness. I cut and welded mine to find out the swivel end was wore out, so there is a lot of play in it. I was able to beat it in some, but there is still a lotof play in it. I plan to get the aftermarket linkage when I can afford it though.
