looking at a 2004 Grand Cherokee

I'm in the market for a car. One that I'm considering is a 2004 Grand Cherokee. I'm just trying to get feedback on how reliable the car is.

It's a 4WD 4L automatic if that makes a difference.

I'm just trying to find out is it a car that will hold up with proper preventive maintenance or is it predisposed to having problems.

I have had no problems at all with my 04 - almost 78K miles on it now. I have the 4.7 HO engine, but I have had two other Jeeps with the 4.0L and you couldn't kill that engine. Sold my 87 Cherokee with 328,000 on the original 4.0L without even a valve job - -was still running great.

The only work done to the Jeep so far has been the dealer recall on the heated seats.
