P0174

I'm just getting this code. I searched the forums and they all refer to this code along with P0171.

Why would I just get this code?

Is the probable cause a vacuum leak?

Re: P0174

Bank 1 system to lean and Bank 2 system to lean. Could be a vacuum leak or fuel preaaure of bad injectors.

Re: P0174

P0174-Bank 2 running lean

Because of the code reffering to just one bank here are a few possibilities.

1. Intake manifold vacuum leak(usually gasket) at just affected bank, which is actually common, assuming you have 4.0.
2. Leaks in exhaust, once again just on affected bank.
3. Bad O2 sensor. In which case with the right tools, you can swap them from one bank to the other, and if then the P0171 code pops up then you know its a bad sensor.
4. Compression problem on affected bank
5. Leaky injector on affected bank.

Bank 2 by the way is the one on drivers side.

Year, mileage, and engine would be helpful.

Sorry:
It's for a friend of mine. I did notice that her exhaust is in need of repair but I didn't get to look at it.
