1991 Astro AWD spare tire size

I have a 1991 Astro All Wheel Drive that is missing the spare tire (donut). The owners manual & the Chilton service manual do not give the spare tire specification. Does anyone know the correct factory size? This would help to verify in my search in finding one. I appreciate any help. Thanks.

Re: 1991 Astro AWD spare tire size

the tire well is actualy sized to accomidate a full sized spare and i would recommend going to a salvage yard and getting a full sized spare. also "exercise" the cable drop system each time you rotate the tires to make sure it doesn't lock up, or bind off, when you need it most.

Make sure you keep that spare tire cable lubricated also. Living in Canada, the land of ice and snow and road salt, I like to drop my spare at least once a month and just hose down the cable with a good quality spray lubricant. I wouldn't want to be in need of the spare only to find out that it won't come down, I heard too many horror stories.

Have a great one!
