Question 1999 Grand Prix GTP hot center console

Hello, I have another issue with my ride. The center console, where the cup holder and gear shift is has been getting kind of hot in the 1999 GTP. I noticed when I reach for a drink or my cell phone. What might the problem be?

Here's my crazy idea:

Next time you notice the console is hot, pull over in a safe place, unbuckle your safety belt, open your door, lean over, look under your car and see if your cat is glowing orange.

If it is indeed glowing you might want to have a handy lil' fire extinguisher on board... Lol

Just kiddin'
