My daughter has a 02 GP,at least 2 times a month it will not start up after she has drove it for over an hour,,a mechanic told me it could be the fuel pump,,but he didn't know for sure,,,instead of giving him 500 to change a maybe,,I'm going to change it myself,,,, could someone tell me the steps I need to know in order to drop the gas tank and change the pump,,or suggest a web-site that can walk me through it,,,,,Thanks alot ,, Challeno,,,,,,,,

You don't have to drop the gas tank. We have a procedure right here on AF at our Tips & Maintenance forum. See link below:
Click here Before replacing the fuel pump check the fuel pressure first. Also, how old is the fuel filter?

I agree with Bob, check fuel pressure first at the schrader valve on the fuel rail (should be 48-55psi key on/engine off). Wouldn't you be sick if you spent $200+ on a fuel pump module and the time it takes to replace it only to discover it wasn't your problem? Never trust a mechanic's guess. A random hot no-start can be so many different things.
