Thanks Dave.No there's no need to sand the basecoat before you apply the clear.Unless you get some imperfections in the basecoat then sand them out and apply more basecoat,but never sand the final coat of basecoat.This is particularly important with the metallic colours because sanding them destroys the structure of the flakes.All you need do is wipe the basecoat over with a tack rag and then spray your clear,that's it.

Really wonderful job u did here steve fantastic model of a fantastic bike, I hope mine comes out as good as ures. Btw what set did u get those locking clips from, I need some for mine since I sanded the molded ones away.

The clips were on a sheet from Model Car Garage.You get different sizes to suit various scales.http://www.modelcargarage.com/store/...&idproduct=169
