1992 buick lesabre code 41

Can you have a missing magnet for the cam sensor and still have the service engine light go on and off???? The vehicle has 192,000 miles on it... Thanks Arne

That is very possible. No magnet would mean no signal to the pcm through the cam circuit and hence the SES light. Before long, it will stay on without cycling until you fix the problem.

BTW, remember, code 41 can also be the crank sensor (CKPS) Has the timing set ever been replaced?

The timing set has not been changed. I am planning on doing it along with the crank and cam sensors... Anything else need changing while I ahve the engine apart.????Thanks Arne
