I got a grand prix with a 3.1 multiport. What happened is it won't start. It tries to start but doesn't I just put new plugs and wires on it but it wasn't recently. It 170k so im thinking it may be the starter or coil pack. I just don't know how to test either for malfunctions. ANy help would be appeciated and thanks for reading.

It would help to post the year of your car. Have you checked to see if you're getting spark and for proper fuel pressure?

MAF, MAP both are problems for not starting, and check your fuel pump for fuel dilevernce. when you turn the egnition you should hear a buzzing noise faintly thats the fuel pump getting pressurising the system and spraying a little fuel into the cylinder for a good start
