Ever since my stock intake hose got shredded, I've been running a dual-cone filter clamped right onto the throttle body on my 92 lesabre.
This isn't the best choice, so I was thinking about getting a metal pipe to space the filter away from the body, but this is the only one I can find: http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sel...3/Images/V.jpg This does NOT look like the engine compartment of my 1992 lesabre. It looks similar, but that does not mean it will fit. I can't go back to the junky stock airbox, not after the perceived performance boosts and the very real airflow noise. That sound alone is worth ditching the junky box. I've tried drier hose, but the smallest diameter that Home Depot's Racer Supply Center (sarcasm) had was 4", which is too large to even clamp down without gaps. Will this pipe, though I don't wanna ebay anything more, fit a 92? Does anyone have some better ideas? --Kevin |

Re: Doesn't look like a LeSabre to me....
That intake setup looks like a good way to draw in all that nice, hot underhood air.

Re: Doesn't look like a LeSabre to me....
Right now I'm drawing in the nice hot, underhood air--preheated to perfection, courtesy of the 600 degree or so exhaust crossover pipe, as my current setup is just a filter directly on the throttle body.
The car in the picture is not a 92 lesabre that I've ever seen, but that aside, are there any better ideas? |
