Fuel line replacement

I have a 97 GP GT 3.8 vin K and I need to replace the fuel line on the rear fuel rail. Does anyone have an idea how long it calls to replace and how involved it is.
Thanks

-I must say JB WELD worked amazing to temporarily fix the problem until my part comes in. It was leaking badly, I cleaned off the plastic line and applied JB to the leaking area. I waited 1 1/2 hours started it up and no more leak. It has been 3 days and still holding. I have pictures of the fix but I cant figure out how to post attachments.

Re: Fuel line replacement

There are repair sections available instead of replacing the entire line made by Dorman/Motormite. If it's broken somewhere in the middle, the kit will consist of a section of the plastic line and two metal serrated splice connectors. They make these repair sections for the quick-connector ends also, if you broke one changing a fuel filter or fuel pump module. These kits come with instructions, are fairly easy to do, and are much less expensive than replacing the entire line.

Re: Fuel line replacement

Thanks for the reply,

The line cracked right before the 90 degree bend going into the fuel rail closest to the fire wall. I would need the 90 degree quick disconnect. Is there a repair kit available for that. Where do I go about finding that????? Is that a kit they would have at Advanced or Autozone??? Thanks for the help

Re: Fuel line replacement

If it's the inlet side, it is dorman #800-059. A-Z or Advance may very well stock it

Here's a link to Dorman's fuel line repair kits.

Re: Fuel line replacement

Thanks for the help!!!! I really do not want to replace the whole line so the repair kit is perfect.

-BTW the JB weld is still holding like a champ. I have driven it a lot since I made the temporary repair.

Re: Fuel line replacement

well the repair kit does not work the way I would hope. The one I need has all the curves in it. I may be able to bypass the curved line and put the straight one in and just angle it slightly to go over the brake fluid reservoir. The only thing I am afraid of is putting too much pressure on the existing line and cracking it. I may just keep the JB weld on for now since it is holding and have the repair kit on hand just in case??????????????

- Do you know of any other repair kit that might fit my application better????
