Which valve is the intake valve?

I just reinstalled the heads on my wifes 98 GMC suburban, I need to know which valve is the intake and which is the exhaust? I get the whole adjusting part but I would like too know for sure which is which before I kill my wifes truck. I have a lot of time invested to get that wrong so any info would be great. The motor is a 5.7 V-8, I think it is a 350.
