starting problem

I hope someone can help me I have a 2003 dodge stratus RT that won't start. It started having problems about a week ago when it won't start on a very hot day. The battery was tested and was fully charged when the tow truck driver tried to start it. He thought the tightness of the engine had caused the starter to overheat but it started after a few minutes with the hood open.

Last night after driving an hour I stopped for gas and it would not start. Again the tow truck driver tried to start it but this time it would not turn over even after several hours of allowing the engine to cool.

Today after getting towed home when pumping the gas pedal the engine sometimes acts as if it is going to turnover. The lights and accessories work as if fully charged but engine won't turn over.

Any suggestions on the cause and how to repair would be appreciated.

Re: starting problem

You will have to do some tests. Is the battery fully charged ? How many amps is the starter pulling ? Are the battery cables clean and tight ? Does the engine turn over freely?
