Yeah, you know what the problem is? it's not really the PIP it's the no-fault law we have. Sure getting rid of the PIP would help reduce insurance fraud and lower cost of the insurance, but if you get into and AT-FAULT accident who and you send the other person wo the hospital who is going to pay for the medical bills that the person aquires?

In all honesty....save for the speeding I have no problem with any of those if they were real.

That bogus email went through California a while back.

It's impossible for them to have set prices for such things, mainly because counties have different ways of charging for the infractions. No two tickets would be the same in two different areas of the state.

Plus the Officers discretion is also factored in, they can write you for lower speeds than what they actually clocked you at for instance.

Re: New Florida Traffic Laws

You know, that incorrect lane change one got me thinking...what if I was making a left turn across a double yellow? It's not my fault there's no middle lane.

I'm not sure about where you are, but in my city, thats officer's discretion. Basically, if you actually got a ticket for that, it would most likely be thrown out of court. Its one of those things alot like speeding. In all reality, speeding tickets are officer's discretion. I don't know how many times I've gone by a cop going decently over the limit (10-15), and he left me alone because I was going fast, but the traffic conditions were ok, and I wasn't driving like a unitard.

But then again, Texas has some interesting traffic laws.

Damnit State of Texas!

I wouldn't speed past a cop, I don't want to give him (or her) the satisfaction of seeing me break the law, even if it is at their discretion.

Re: New Florida Traffic Laws

The thing in Texas is that, while individual cities have a speed limit, the state doesn't really have one. Its just "A prudent and reasonable speed". They just recently added state speed limit laws, but they over rule the city speed limit laws by 10-15 miles per hour. And the best part is probation and deferred judication. Basically you pay whatever the court cost is (so for my city, $75), go three months without another traffic violation, and it is taken off your record. I've been stopped a total of seven times, gotten tickets six of em. Only have one ticket on my record and its from Missouri.

Re: New Florida Traffic Laws

I got a speeding ticket because i needed to pass a car because i needed to go into the left lane to turn. SO I accelerated and passed the car with my turning signal and bam, turns out the car i passed was a cop. I was like WTF, because I had to pass you give me a ticket. It was a chick cop so i figured she just hadnt gotten laid in a while and was pissed off about it.
