Re: Madison, the fourth President predicted Bush in 1795

I'm going to enjoy the next 16 months as the last vestiges of Bush's popularity are swallowed up. The question is no longer 'can the world convince America that they elected a bad President'.You guys finally got it, and even the most fervent Republican is now starting to realise that the world can decide not to like him. No, the question now is the question faced by Bush back in 2001 - how do we convince thwe rest of the world that there's a politician out there who needs puting on trial for crimes against humanity? Should be a whole lot easier to indict Bush than it was to catch Saddam. |

I am concerned about what continues to happen despite the voice of the people. Moreover, I am concerned about the future- specifically how long it will take to remedy Bush's fuck-ups, if we can repair the damage at all. I would also love to see those who still unabashedly support this epic ass either confess to suffering from severe mental retardation or finally enlighten us as to why. It's also a damn shame that a non-citizen of the United States is more passionate and concerned about our government's direction than most Americans on these boards. That to some our political process involves little more than robotic obedience or bored passivity while waiting for the next "loser"...

I never said the country's situation bored me. I said YOU GUYS bore me. We really do get it. We know you're fed up and you hate the guy with all your might. That's it, how many times does the same diatribe need to be spouted? Perhaps you're fed up enough to take up arms and do it up royal? No? I didn't think so. You can't see past your worn out rhetoric to understand that some of us became disgusted with the mainstream parties years ago. I've been registered independent almost as long as I've been old enough to vote. Just because we don't jump on your wagon doesn't mean we support the present morass, either. I've been voting for "those other guys" for quite some time. I hate to break it to you, but the system is busted. Dems, Reps, take your pick, they're interchangeable in my view. They BOTH suck to high heaven. Professional politicians are sucking the life out of this country, and none of them give a rat's ass about anything but getting power and staying there. And they're oh so happy to tell us how the other guy sucks ass, pretty much the same way you carry on in here. Here's how *I* do my part: I go to work, do the best I can, and help whomever I can. I pay my taxes, I watch out for my neighbors, and I support my local economy. I love my family and provide the best example of good citizenship that I can for my kids. I obey the law, and I do some community work on the side in my free time. I support charities, I help run a food pantry, and lend a hand to my friends when they ask for it. It would be so easy to throw in the towel, but I don't, and neither do the other people I associate with. We make a difference in our world. We are the people who keep this fucking country running. We actually think it's still a pretty decent place to live. Now, how about YOU get the fuck out there and YOU change the world for us? Find us a decent candidate to vote for, because I sure as hell don't see any in the mainstream parties. But, I still vote, because I know people who have died to give us that right. The only wasted vote is a vote not cast. Now, let's continue the rant fest, shall we? Now you can be bored with ME for a while. opcorn:

Re: Madison, the fourth President predicted Bush in 1795
I agree with you as far as politicians are concerned- and you certainly seem like a swell chap- but If the issues are old news and not worthy of your time, why then participate in the debate? I'm sorry you tire of this topic, but many don't- and I'm not here tonight to entertain 03cavPA exclusively. I certainly don't believe anyone has physically forced you to peruse this thread
(at least I hope not, or reading this "rhetoric" must be doubly unpleasant). Stopping by to pass judgement while contributing nothing of substance seems silly to me. So you can do your part for change and I'll do mine. As soon as I find your candidate I'll let you know and you can vote for him. Whoever he or she may be, they have their work cut out for them.

![]() How disingenuous of you. You were looking for comments and mine, as insubstantial as they might be, seem to be what you could bait so far. It's a slow news day. You don't think it has anything to do with comments like this, do you? Quote:

Re: Madison, the fourth President predicted Bush in 1795
Frankly, yes- I would LOVE to see a little emotion on the part of Bush supporters and more Americans in general. I want outrage, embarrassment, concern. Am I wrong to assume it possible to meld passion with substance, visceral response with intellectualism? IMO, that is something we see far too little of here. But if my wording concerns you more than my meaning, I'm sorry to have hurt your feelings. But I don't think you are really that delicate. Believe me- I would much prefer a spirited, rational argument to cheap banter from a fellow who post after post blathers on about how much we bore him. I frequent this section for a reason...and it isn't to jingle my keys in front of your face.

As I said, it's a slow news day, and it was too tempting to throw vegetables from the cheap seats. When you go trolling, sometimes you have to take whatever hits the bait. ![]() I will agree with you about the sadness of lack of responses, but maybe it's because no one feels a need to rehash the same shit ad nauseum. eh, just some thoughts. Nothing more, nothing less. This looks like a "last word" moment. Light it up, it's yours. We be jammin'
