What to do?

I'm tired of looking at rock chips all over my bumper and hood. I've been told different stories from different people on how to 'get rid of them'. Also, the other day I buffed my car with an orbital buffer and Turtle Wax Polishing Compound (before waxing). Well my dumbass forgot to change pads and the one that was on there got a little crusty and left swirl marks (very, very faint ones). And now I'm just pissed off. These ARE possible to get rid of, right? I was told to have the car buffed by a professional with a high-speed buffer and it'd look like new. As for the rock chips, I was told to get a can of paint mixed up (that matches the car, of course). Spray some paint in the cap, take the end of a paper match stick, dip it, then 'touch up' the chips, one by one. Let dry, then have it professionally buffed and 'you'd never know that they were there'. Is this true? The littlest mark or anything pisses me off and I hate having rock chips.

Also, anyone have any good reviews on projector headlights from e-bay?

And lastly...I still have the 'revised' 7-bolt from the Spyder. It's torn down to nothing, just bare block. My motor right now has almost 154,000 miles on it (original). No problems whatsoever. Runs 170 compression on all 4. No oil leaks, nothing to complain about. Pulls harder than hell (well, harder than you'd expect for a motor with that many miles). I hardly ever beat on my car and when I do beat on it, it's a gentle beating lol. Anyway, my friend needs a 2nd gen tranny. My tranny also has 153,xxx miles on it. No grinds or crunches. I have another tranny in the garage with 30,xxx miles on it. My friend wants to buy me an ACT 2100 clutch in exchange for my high-mile tranny. That way he gets the tranny, and when I put my new tranny in, I'll have a brand new clutch to throw in with it. Good deal or no? The reason I brought up my motor was because I wanted to wait until it blew up before I did anything major. I wanted to rebuild my other 7-bolt and throw everything NEW on it, along with the new tranny and clutch. What should I do? Just wait and keep saving up for the rebuild and do everything at once, or go with the deal my friend is offering me?

Thanks for any help,

Steve

Re: What to do?

I love my projectors from ebay. You seen my thread with the pics in them? So much brighter too. I would personally reseal them though before you install, when I washed the car yestreday, the one has some moisture in there, but all in all not bad.

Re: What to do?

Not sure on the paint, but I do think that a ACT 2100 for a old tranny sounds good as hell to me. Just be sure he gets you the one with the sprung 6 puck .

Re: What to do?

you would be better off resprying the whole bumper, thats the only way to get rid of them. If you touch up that many chips it will be noticable.
