1998 gas door problem

1998 cont....my gas door does not pop open I have been using the cable in the trunk...any ideas what this might be....it makes a clicking noise when i push the button from inside but it is never open when i get to the gas door.

Sounds like the spring that pushes the door open is broken. I can't imagine how the cable would override the broken spring, but that's my take on the problem.

I have that same problem, made me look like an idiot running around from the gas door back to the button about 3 times at the gas station. Have you found out anything new about it?
