All my 96 Continental problems (kinda a lot)
Hey everybody, Im new to this forum and am seeking whatever help I can get. Some of these problems aren’t such a big deal, while others have rendered my car useless. I've already got some answers from mechanics and have done some quick searches, but I’d still like to hear what everyone else thinks.
-Air suspension is totally dead. There had been some leaking in the past but now nothing. Im sittin a couple inches off the ground. -Rear brakes started making a grinding noise, but only at slow to stopping speeds. As a matter of fact, the day after I started hearing the grinding, the "check ride control" warning came on and my suspension went dead. Probably not connected, but was a little weird. -Power Steering is leaking. I'll fill it up, a few days will go by, and I'll start hearing a god awful noise when I turn. And sometimes when I'm at a red light or in traffic I'll notice some white smoke coming from either under my hood or under the car. Im assuming this may be from some fluid leaking onto exhaust or something hot. -Clunking noise in the front end when the car hits bumps and sometimes when I take turns. -“Check Traction Control” warning has been appearing on the message screen for a while now. -ABS light has been on for about a year but have had no breaking problems until now. -The driver door handle broke. There’s this little latch that’s connected to the handle which just snapped in half. SUCH a pain in the ass. I drilled a hole through the latch and have been rigging wire, trip wire, fishing line, para cord, etc.....nothing seems to last. -Passenger window doesn’t roll up correctly unless someone assists it into place or I do the "window dance" and shimmy it up and down with the window switch. There’s more but I figure this is enough for now.....Any help, tips, advice (other than get a new car) would be greatly appreciated! I know it doesn’t look good, and Im not gonna drop thousands of dollars into a car that isn’t worth the repairs, but I’d still like to make an effort. Thanks! |
