Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

cost of building a show car

someone asked this question in the newbie thread ... I made a new thread for it

Depends on what all you want in the system, do just want bass or the sound quality part too ?

I know for a true SQ car, at least $5K for equipment, another $1-2K for wires, battery(ies), probably $500-1000 for dynamat stuff. To have it installed, probably $5-10K if you want it show car quality. I imagine a big SPL install at show car quality will be similiar in price.

Re: cost of building a show car

It really depends on how insane you want to go with the system. You could spend as little as 1-2k for local car shows or if you go in with the big boys for pro's then you are looking at spending well over 10k for everything. Show cars are really only accomplished by having alot of major companies doing sponsorships and they only give them out to people who have a track record of constant 1st place wins. That's why most of the show cars you see are made by the equipment manufacturers as the company has more than enough funds to do anything they wanted.
