Exclamation Input/Turbine Speed Sensor

Please Help!! Has anyone have any knowledge of the Input/Turbine Speed Sensor for a 1998 Ford Escort?

Hi, run4itlulu, and welcome to the forum. I don't know anything about the TSS but I can see it in my manual for the '97. The transaxle diagram is in two parts, with the TSS being shown on the first. The third diagram is the component location. There's probably more information in the manual, but your question is a little vague so I'm not sure what information it is that you're looking for.

My 92 Escort also has a 'turbine speed sensor' at the top of the transmission, farthest from the motor. Its hidden under the aircleaner housing and battery tray on mine. Its just a magnetic pickup for a 'toothed wheel' inside the tranny. I imagine its needed for the computer to control shifting with the 4 solenoids on the valve body. It unbolts and pulls out of the tranny case; and being at the very top of the case - no ATF even leaks out.
