Re: Ferrari 512S
I still think Scale Motorsport's red carbon fiber is a good way to replicate the old Ferrari seat material. Just dull coat it all after application.
http://store.scalemotorsport.com/mer.../1625_full.jpg That pics is obviously magnified...but you can see the desired pattern.

Re: Ferrari 512S
Why is it the photos you need always come after you execute the work? An extension of Murphy's Law?
We did find photos of the interior as it was restored, and a low res online pic of the one with Jacky sitting in the car. The latter showed it was red, (not black as some reference indicated), the former showed the pattern, which does not match the clearer resolution photo posted here, and the texture of the quilting is not the same either. I too think the exterior red is brighter and shinier than a true absolute replica would be. But there are many discrepancies between the model and the photos of the real car. Not knocking the kit, but we have no photos showing this car in presentation trim, as a "virgin" race car as it were. So the choice was made to make it look the way the client wants it to look. He's happy, so I'm happy. After all, isn't what this is all about...? |
