Bonneville SSEI Supercharger

Does any know if you can purchase a new belt that will by-pass a faulty supercharger. I have a limited income and i can't afford to replace my supercharger on my SSEI at this time. Any suggestions for a quick fix?

Welcome to AF!!

You should just be able to remove the belt from the supercharger and not reinstall it. On most of the 3.8's the supercharger belt only powers the supercharger. If your is the exception check simply measure the length of the belt around everything except the supercharger pulley and purchase one of appropriate length.

What year? I think early years run water pump too.

It is a 92 and i think you're right it may run the water pump also.

What is wrong with the super charger.

I have no idea what is wrong with the supercharger. I don't know enough about them to hazzard a guess. All I can say is it is making a god awefull rattling noise when the car is idling, put a load on the engine and it settles way down. It will be atleast a month before i can afford to pick one up on E-bay so I was hoping to by pass it for now.
