i think im having starter problems. when i turn key, i get a clicking and grinding sound( elec. grinding, if that makes sense..) i want to remove starter and have it tested but do not know where it is. any help is appreciated

Most good auto parts stores have a tester that will determine if your starter is bad. I'd venture a guess that in more cases than not, a new starter wasn't the issue, but the removal and cleaning of the starter connections actually fixed the problem.
The grinding you hear may be the 'bendix' not fully extending and engaging the flywheel properly, you may need only the solenoid. |
