2000 grand prix transmission/comp probs

Hey everyone! I've been having problems with my 2000 grand prix gt v6 3600, automatic. It has 257,000 miles, but has drove wonderfully until recently with no major repairs ever done. Recently we were informed by multiple mechanics that we need a new transmission, and it wont get past 3rd gear. within a few days time, the service engine soon light came on, ABS lgiht came on, the Trac off light came on, and the inside courtesy lights came on and would not turn off. Could this be an overall computer problem. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to AF.

Get it scanned with a trans capable scanner and post the codes. Or ask the mechanics for the DTC codes.

No 4th (OD) could be caused by a bad 4th clutch shaft.
