odd noise (front end)
hello, i have a 91 honda civic cx hatchback and i get this wierd noise when i am braking or coastin slowly, comes from front passenger side. the noise is a sort of grinding noise, its not constant it does it in pulses. i can feel the car vibrate to the pulse but i get no play in the steering wheel.

Re: odd noise (front end)
Please check em and make sure they are both in ALL the way, and do you remember if you put the circlips on to hold them in?

Re: odd noise (front end)
Put the circlips in? They should already be on the axle, and shouldn't come off too easy.
But it does sound like a wheel bearing maybe.

Re: odd noise (front end)
Lol, I remember from other posts that frodo's had the same nightmares I've had with those damn circlips...yes they are always on the axle but people who have never replaced one sometimes don't push them in all the way so they lock in the trans...I think the problem is either the bearing..or the axle nut wasn't tightened enough...I've done that when I'm in a hurry and if its loose you will get a wobble
