67 galaxie problems
Ok,
I have a 2dr 67 galaxie 500 with a 390. I just had the original 2v carb and intake swapped for a 4b edlebrock and high pro intake manifold. He re-jetted the carb and tweaked it as good as he could. He said it was hard to get it perfect because it is so cold here right now. Anyways when i get on the gas hard i here a click and there is a delay like im not even on the gas then it reacts and takes off-my problem is that i am going to race it this spring/summer and that delay will kill me-so what might be the problem? Thanks! -Ben |

How big is your carb? Is your motor built? Although 390 is a big block, stock motor ususlly works around 500 to 600 cfm range at the most. You might be flooding it. Try it with smaller jets.

Re: 67 galaxie problems
if the cam is bad, it'll make a snapping sound when you give er. but if the cam is good , then the guy who did your carb f-ed up. cause that engine can handle well over a 600cfm, even stock. other then that , all i can say is check your timming again.
