Cool by passing the stock amp on 1998 528i

I have a stock radio which I want to replace with a cd in-dash radio. I need to by pass the amp, due to the wiring for the speakers not meeting the stock radio head. I need to know where the amp is located and can I wire the speakers at this point? Do the speaker wires meet there? I think the amp is located at the drivers side kick panel?

Thanks

Brian

Either there or check in the trunk behind the cosmetic trunk surround. Mine was under the driver side trunk deck tucked away in the very corner.

If there are positive and negative connections for as many speakers you have in the car it's a safe bet that you can wire into the amp.

Probably need a euro to north american antenna plug and a wiring plug. Go to a CC or BB (for U.S., a Futureshop for the fellow Canadians) that has an installation bay they'll have a parts book for what you need for the install, and hopefully the parts as well!
