how to remove the hermonic balancer

hi
im working on my delta 88 and im trying to take the hermonica balancer loose to take the crank angle sensor out im turning the bolt counter clock wise but it does not seem to be coming loose the balancer is spinning how do i get the balancer to stay still so the bolt will come loose

Use an impact gun or take the flywheel inspection cover off and jam something between the bell housing and the teeth on the ring gear.

i heard if you put a breaker bar on it and crank the engine, that is supposed to work but i am unsure whether this would tighten or loosen.
