bringing the 3.0 back to life

long story short, my moms 90 lebaron went into the shop about a year ago to have the fuel tank patched, and a new fuel pump put in while the tank was down. well the guy skrewd something up, and fried the ignition relay and got the hood and trunk jammed shut. well, on friday they called my mom and told her to just come get it, that they couldent fix it. needless to say, my mom gave me the title and said i could do what i want with it. i had it running in 10 mins.

but heres what i still have to address: the front passenger window doesnt go up or down, i can slide it by hand, and i can hear the motor run, so i figure that cant be too hard to figure out. the rear passenger window is broken and been replaced with plexiglass, want to take care of that. the transmission feels alitle iffy, but i know it has a bad mount, and to my knowlage it has never hed the fluid/filter changed, so thats on the to do list along with changing all the other fluid, flushing the break fluid too. i suspect the front drivers side caliper is sticking, as i could hear a slight scraping/rubbing noise from that wheel, so i'm thinking replace the rubber break line section. as for the muffler, it will be a coupla weeks till i get to that.

so anyway, if you have any advice on doing any of these thngs, or if theres anything i need to adress on a car thats been sitting that i hvent thought of, please let me know

Re: bringing the 3.0 back to life

if it only happened when i pressed the breaks i would agree, but there are 2 reasons i think the rubber line is frozen; 1: the noise is constant, but goes away when i press the breaks. also, its not metal on metal like a worn pad is, its more like 2 pieces of paper rubbing together. the other reason is that the pads where a year old when the car was parked. i also know that the rubber lines can swell internaly, especialy when the breaks arent used much. but just to be thurough i will have a look at the pads whenever i get around to dealing with it. thanx for the tip
