blinking light

Hello, i have a 5 spd 95 awd tsi. I was driving one day and i see a light come on right under the ABS light..looks kind of like

Sorry for the bad description but i don't have a manual nor can i find one on the net. I'm just getting a bit worried because the light comes on and off oftenly all of a sudden and if i take it to a shop to get it checked out i'll probably get charged up the ass. Any help at all would be most appreciated and if it's possibly something serious i'll probably end up having to take it in anyway...but just making sure haha

One more concern that i have. I have a check engine light on and i've taken it to a couple shops and it happens to be some kind of random mis-fire. The code was deleted a few times but it ends up coming back, and when it does come back it makes my car run weird and vibrate. (e.g i'd be cruisin in 4th gear and when the light comes back on the car starts vibrating roughly every time i give it gas unless i switch to a different gear or take it out and put it back in, it comes and goes) If anyone can help diagnose this problem it would be much appreciated! thanks

Re: blinking light

Well as for the ABS ligh tit could be something as simple as low brake fluid or something as expensive as a ABS sensor.

Re: blinking light

I think the light you may be getting is a low coolant light, chech out all of your fluid levels and make sure they are all where they need to be.

As far as the random missfire, try replacing your plugs with NGK BPR7ES gapped at 28-31, if that does not fix it check to make sure you dont have a vacum leak anywhere especially around the intake.

Re: blinking light

If your problem is a short in your ignition system, you can help identify it by popping the hood at night as far away from street lights as possible. Drive out of the city or something. Shorts will sometimes show when you manually rev the engine playing with the throttle body.
