Symptoms leading to starter failure

Can anyone tell me what these are?

I have to push my car to start it effective RIGHT NOW..not sure if its my homemade neutral switch (from my conversion) or the starter.

By reading your first thread (double thread), it sounds like you have a starter going bad. I have seen more than a few G's with bad starter's after the get a little ge on them. If the car does not not start in nuetral then that's a good sign that the starter's going bad. Also, if when it doesn't start, you have power throughout the vehicle(i.e. power windows work, radio works, lights work, etc.), than that is alos a good sign that the starter is bad.

So then it is not impossible for a bad starter that stopped working to start working again?

Its possible for a starter to start again even if its acting like that because I had the same problem.

If you tap the outside of it with a hammer it can help if the starter is just clicking when you turn the key. Sometimes they jam in a place on there teeth and wont move in to the flywheel to turn the engine
