I have a 94 Grand Prix SE with the 2nd gear start switch. When I crank the car the car, more often than not, will not go into any gear unless I turn the 2nd gear start switch on. Has anyone delt with this issue and is it the transmission or is it the swith that is giving me problems. I believe the transmission is electronic and the switch, logically, seems to be the problem but I know that when dealing with automotive mechanics logic goes out the window, especially since the installation of electonics.
It has a 3.4 engine with 180K miles on it. I have it parked at the moment with at least one blown head gasket. I am debating on wether to fix the engine or sell the thing and cut my loses. Thanks
