Exclamation 87 F150 flooding and cutting up

when we got this truck it had the same problem we changed the control module, feul pressure regulator and it turned out to be a loose ground wire on the starter fixed it ran great for 4 months and its doing it again also replaced starter, silonoid switch, ignition switch under the steering column put a good ground connection to the engine it will crank run pretty good for about 3 or 4 miles and then kaput it starts flooding backfiring and well quits running any one know something we could try.

"it starts flooding backfiring and well quits running" "when we got this truck it had the same problem"

Probably not - the same problem would require the same solution.

You have to keep track of what you are doing, especially now that your problem has recurred. "it turned out to be a loose ground wire on the starter fixed it" Try fixing it again?

"replaced starter, silonoid switch, ignition switch under the steering column put a good ground connection to the engine" For a driveability problem?

You say it quits running - how long does it take to restart? Do you have to do anything special to make it restart? Plugs wet with fuel?

"Run pretty good" does not say "runs good". Does it run good before the problem occurs?

Check vacuum system?

well I took another look at this truck and it doesent seem to be the same problem when we cranked it up it misses from the get go, it will run for a while but it will stall out and not crank back and its not the vaccum hoses.

Re: 87 F150 flooding and cutting up

So you have checked the vacuum system?

I take it when you say it "will not crank back" you mean it will not start again? The starter operates but the engine does not start?

Once it stalls, what do you have to do to get the engine to restart? Anything? just wait? How long?

Have you checked for spark at every wire? While it is running and while it will not start? Checked your plugs? What do they look like once the engine stalls?

Have you checked compression? This is unlikely a problem since it ran "great" for several months.

It is also not likely the fuel filter - have you checked/replaced?
