Of course there is! The TW sensor tells the ECU how warm the engine is. It's located below the distributor. The other sensor on the back of the blockt provides temp information to the gauge or idiot light. TW sensor failure usually results in dificulty restarting a hot engine. The failure is also intermittent, meaning sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's not. It's basically a temperature sensitive resistor. It's resistance change should be smooth over the range of operation.
BTW, in an attempt to troubleshoot a performance problem I was having, I replaced my TW sensor. Unfortunately, the problem turned out to be a worn out O2 sensor. So... I have a perfectly funtional used TW sensor laying around. If you want it, mail me $1 to cover postage and the padded envelope. It should fit your application. The part # is 37870-PJ7-003 if you want to confirm the application. E-mail me at [email protected] if you're interrested. |
