HELP! Evap. Leak
Hi..I have a 2000 JGC with appx. 74,000 miles. I have been the only owner.
Last August, the check engine light came on. When my mechanic did the code check scan...The code for small evap. leak came up. He said I should take it to the dealer for this problem. So I did and they fixed it. About 2 months ago, the same thing again....Is this something that happens frequently....Is there something wrong with the sensors...Does something need to be reset....Please help....I am so frustrated with this....The dealership that I went to closed a few months ago closed so I guess there goes warranty on the parts they put in...Any advice is greatly appreciated.... |

Re: HELP! Evap. Leak
Yes if the cap is bad it can cause the CE light to come on and by replacing the cap it should go off - if that was the reason. Which most of the time with a small evap leak it is usually due to a bad cap or the cap not being screwed on all the way.
