HELP! Evap. Leak

Hi..I have a 2000 JGC with appx. 74,000 miles. I have been the only owner.
Last August, the check engine light came on. When my mechanic did the code check scan...The code for small evap. leak came up. He said I should take it to the dealer for this problem. So I did and they fixed it. About 2 months ago, the same thing again....Is this something that happens frequently....Is there something wrong with the sensors...Does something need to be reset....Please help....I am so frustrated with this....The dealership that I went to closed a few months ago closed so I guess there goes warranty on the parts they put in...Any advice is greatly appreciated....

If I replace gas cap, this should make the check engine light go off too?
Could this have been the problem the last time, and that is why the light is on again so quicking since I thought I fixed it in AUg 2006....

Re: HELP! Evap. Leak

Yes if the cap is bad it can cause the CE light to come on and by replacing the cap it should go off - if that was the reason. Which most of the time with a small evap leak it is usually due to a bad cap or the cap not being screwed on all the way.
