http://www.miamiherald.com/569/story/166659.html

So much for the fun of no emissions.. Guess next mod on my list is a new cat.

Re: Florida to adopt California emissions standards

Ok, the article didn't say anything about emissions testing. The article just said new cars will have to reduce emissions yadda yadda yadda...

after trying to weed through the lawyer jargon on the executive orders 07-126 through 07-128 I can't find anything that applies to use who own cars already. Most if it is just about state vehicles. Although they were just drafts.

Re: Florida to adopt California emissions standards

Well some of the guys on LS1Tech are talking about this too. According to one of their sponsors:
Quote:
This won't affect older cars, so there's no need for anyone to soil their shorts. There already is legal precedent stating that whatever mods you have prior to emissions legislation, you are grandfathered in. Only new cars sold as model year 2009 and newer would be required to meet this legislation. This may sound bad to anyone set on buying the 2009 Camaro or Corvette, but does anyone think that has stopped us power hungry folk before? The aftermarket rules baby, and I don't know about you guys, but I intend on modding my rides 'till I'm bolted into a casket. We emission tested cars and sold certified kits before, we'll just keep doing the same thing after '09. Thanks to our SEMA membership, we get great help with legal issues and how we can work within the limits of the law while not short-changing ourselves with our passion for speed and power. POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!
Hopefully this is true..

Yeah I am really hopeful about that. I am buying a 1975 Corvette tomorrow I almost soiled myself when I read the emissions thing.

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot to add.... What the heck is up with our state? Rep. Bob Allen was just arrested for solicitation of prostitution.

HAHAAAAA!!!!! Good man.

One thing I don't understand is are / do these emmission standards apply to aircraft? Cause FL has a huge concentration of Air Force detachments (don't they?) and last time I checked an F-15 didn't have a catalytic converter, nor was subject to emissions tests. One of them thing probably burns more fuel and emits more pollutants than the entire state of FL.

Yeah we have a whole bunch of air force bases, another huge polluter here is NASA.
