Rear defrost not working

Hi All,
I have a 98 Sunfire GT. Recently the rear defrost has stopped working. Indicator light comes on. Took out leads on the window and put a multimeter to them and it registered about 2.0 - 2.8 V DC on them. Turned off the defrost and the reading went down to 0.
Any thoughts?

Thanks,
CaptK

Re: Rear defrost not working

I'm bumping this thread....I have the same problem, I haven't gone as far as checking the leads though. I've pretty much just learned to live without rear defrost.

Re: Rear defrost not working

you should have battery voltage (greater than 12v) between the drivers edge of every defrost line and the passenger side edge of every defrost line. voltage drop of each line should decrease closer and closer to zero the closer you get to the passenger side edge. also check to make sure your plugs are securely attached to each end of the rear window.
