New Engine High Idle
I just put a 3.3 in my 96 pathfinder it is a used engine but low miles.The problem is as soon as i got it started it jumped right up to 6 grand at idle and i dont see anything wrong the butterfly is hitting the stop just fine.I am not sure where to start trouble shooting it any and all suggestions would be very helpfull i have double and triple checked all electrical and vac connections everything looks fine. Wow. It shouldn't be able to hit 6000 RPM's by itself with the throttle plate shut. You may have an intake leak?

yea well after some closer observation i found the boneheads that pulled the engine had bent the throttle stop linkage so the throttle was still part way open thanks anyway runs good now
