You did not say whether you have ACC (Automatic Climate Control), or the manual system, so I assumed you have the ACC, since you have a temp display. You may have two problems here, the fault and the blower control module. Let's start with the code retrieval.

When the ACC temperature control display starts flashing, it is telling you that the system has a fault. You may be a little low on Freon, or you could have other problems. Use the procedure below, to see if you can retrieve the codes. After resetting the codes, the compressor should cycle on long enough to do a pressure test. If not, try disconnecting the battery negative cable for about 30 sec. That will clear any residual memory from the ACC & PCM.

This procedure will work on 1992 -1993 models with ACC, and may also work on 1988-1991 models.

The diagnostic mode also contains a data list mode and an override mode.

Be careful not to select modes 01 or 02, as these are different modes, and may cause problems.

If you suspect you are in the wrong mode, press OFF repeatedly until you exit to normal mode. If the temperature display flashes for 2 minutes when the ignition is turned to RUN, a trouble code is set.

1. Turn ignition to RUN. Press OFF and WARM (temperature up) buttons simultaneously. (Hold in buttons until flashing segment test begins).

2. Watch the segment test, then the trouble codes will be displayed.

3. Code Key:

00 - No codes

10 or 110 - Ambient Temp Sensor circuit open or shorted.

13 or 113 - In-Vehicle Temp Sensor circuit open or shorted.

15 or 115 - LH Solar Sensor circuit open or shorted.

35 or 135 - Data Line failure - HVAC Control Assembly

38 or 138 - Data Line failure - PCM

40 or 140 - Driver Air Mix Motor circuit open or shorted, or not calibrated

48 or 148 - Long Term Freon Loss

52 or 152 - Keep Alive Memory lost; sets with battery disconnected

66 or 166 - Low Freon

A number 1 prefix indicates a history trouble code!

4. Press OFF twice once the codes are displayed to end diagnostic mode, OR to clear trouble codes, press FAN DOWN three times (make sure 03 is displayed).

Once 03 is displayed, press FAN UP to clear trouble codes. Then repeatedly press OFF to end diagnostic mode.

Re: 92 Buick Air temperature is blinking and blower is not working

Great, I did read and cleared all codes and I waited some days to check if everything works well. Finally it blinked again and I read a 41 and 151 codes. What I must do to correct these problems??. I also changed the battery
Thanks.

Wink Re: 92 Buick Air temperature is blinking and blower is not working

If you changed the battery, that would explain the return of code 151 (Keep alive memory loss). In addition, if the battery was disconnected and the blend door was not in the correct position for the setting, it will set a code 41, (Driver Air Mix Door)

Go through the reset procedure again with the engine running. Once you have the codes cleared, turn the system OFF with a pause, and then back ON. Change from MAX cool, to defrost and back to Max cool, with a pause in between. You may need to do this several times for the blend door motor to recalibrate to the “home” position. If after performing this series of resets, you still have a code 41, you can suspect blend door actuator damage. Do a search for “Blend Door Actuator” in the Buick Forums, you should find a lot more info on the subject!

BTW, it is better to let the compressor run as much as possible, to keep oil circulating through the compressor and the seals lubricated.

Good luck!

Re: 92 Buick Air temperature is blinking and blower is not working

Thanks, I already fixed the codes but the blower is still not working, I used a multitester to check power on the blower, there is not, so I put a wire between the compressor and the blower and it is working while I used the AC for awhile. What I need the check it out in this issue?? THANKS

Re: 92 Buick Air temperature is blinking and blower is not working

You still have not said if you have Auto Climate Control, or the manual system. If you have ACC and the blower does not have power without a jumper, you need a new blower control module. It is located in the top firewall blower box, below the fuse/relay center, passenger side. You will need to remove two nuts from the studs holding the relay panel to the firewall and move the fuse/relay panel forward to see the control module.

BTW, beware of using an unfused jumper wire to the blower motor without a relay to energize it. The motor pulls 18-22 amp and if not connected through a relay, it will eventually melt the insulation and could go direct to ground. The end result could be an engine compartment fire! You need to fix this problem ASAP! Do not use a direct jumper to the blower motor!
