Just a quick question, I have been told all along to put Premium in my '97 Pathfinder (even from the original dealer), but just recently checked the manual and noted that it says octane 87 or higher.
So what is the deal, should I just go back to Regular? Can I mix the two or should I wait until it gets low or should I stick with 91/92? Thanks. |

Re: Regular versus Premium
I'd follow what the owners manual says and see how your vehicle operates on that. If you are having issues with the 87 then go a step up to the next octane level. Too much money is wasted by people buying unnecessary higher octane levels in their fuel. Around here it's about a .25cent difference. Multiply that over time and you can see how much extra money you'll have in your pocket.

Re: Regular versus Premium
So should I let it get low before switching to the 87 or can I just fill it whenever and let the two mix?
Thanks! |

Re: Regular versus Premium
It doesn't matter one bit. Fill 'er up.
