01 Golf 1.8T Question?

I just have a couple questions, which hopefully someone will be able to give me an idea on this. I have a 2001 Golf 1.8T and I keep having problems with a CEL and the coils, I've replaced 2 coils already Cylinder 2 and Cylinder 3, after replacing clyinder 3 my check engine light was back on I think a week later, had it scanned it said cylinder 1, 2, and 4 were misfiring which makes no since, since I had already replaced cylinder 2 so why would it be misfiring? (other then spark plugs) I've had it scanned 3 times since then and it keeps saying the same thing, today I had it scanned again, and it the codes are P0301 P0302 P0303 P0304, so now all four cylinders are misfiring? SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! What could be causing this? apparently from the looks of my spark plugs there burning hot which means my car is running lean, what would cause this problem? I'am extremely frustrated and do not have the money to take it to the shop.... one other question, if I'am having problems with the coils and they have never been replaced before, Does the VW dealership have to honor the recall on those coils no matter how many miles my car has on it?

Re: 01 Golf 1.8T Question?

The recall you are talking about is the WG recall. Its for the ignition coils and its about 3yrs old. If the recall is still open they have to replace the ignition coils under warranty.

VW coils are junk, they made a mistake switching to bosch coils from hitachi coils. VW never had any issues with hitachi coils (the ones that bolt to the valve cover) its just that they were 90.00/coil as opposed to the 30.00/coil on the bosch push in ones.
