my 91 crx hf shifts like a biaatch!!!!

hey,
whats up.I have a quick question for you guys...my 91 crx hf shifts like crap.I can barely get the damn thing outta first without stalling it and making a lound bangin noise...... i know that the crx hf trannys are shitty but is there some way i can adjust it somehow:??

my bro has a 88 crx dx and i can drive that car fine!!!!!!!!!

both are manual!!!!!please help me...im an idiot when it comes to this

Well if you want it to shift smoother maybe you need to replace your shifter bushing or something. As for the banging that doesn't sound good at all. Go look under the car and see if you shift linkage is damaged or not. And also do you know if the clutch is ok?

i think i kinda got you confused a little... its not the shifter,,,,its the clutch, when im letting out the clutch to take off in first,,,,i almost have to floor it to get it going without stalling!

Well then you probably need to adjust your Clutch Cable. It probably got really really loose. If you look under the hood you can see 2 cables, one is the Throttle Cable, that goes to the Throttle Body, and the other should be your Clutch Cable. See if you can adjust it or not, I'm not sure how you do though, look it up in a Chiltons.
